There are often people that we can identify as being stand-out “Helpers” in each of our communities. We often admire the work that they are doing but don’t know that we ourselves could take on such a role. But, maybe what we do have the capacity to do is to help these Helpers to be able to spread their efforts further. Here are 4 ways that you can “Help the Helpers” in your communities.
“Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.” – Helen Keller
- Be encouraging- Show recognition to those you see making an impact big or small. This encouragement may be what that person needs to keep showing up!
- Ask where they could use support- this may give you a smaller role in serving that you have the capacity to help with.
- Support financially- If you don’t have the time but do have the financial resources these “Helpers” will have great insights into where in the community a financial donation would go the furthest.
- A small gesture- Bring over a meal, offer to watch kids, help fold a load of laundry, a simple gesture to show support that may allow the “Helper” a break to recharge or more time to give back.
Helper Helper is a platform designed to support the Helper of Helpers. By providing a simple techonoogy that allows for an easy way to coordinate and manage volunteering we hope more efforts can be focused on communites than the cumbersome task of mangaging volunteers.
