Usually at this time of year, The Princeton Review releases their annual list of Top Party Schools in the country. Undergrads from the rowdiest schools will celebrate their prolific partying with more debauchery and alumni of said schools will do the same inevitably boast at the water-cooler (is water-cooler still applicable?) that they “helped build the way” and then go to bed at 9pm.
The list is fun and something college administrators publicly hate but secretly love. To quote one Don Draper, “Any publicity is good publicity, as long as they spell your name right.”
Let’s check out Princeton Review’s other annual list that doesn’t get enough publicity: “Students Most Engaged in Community Service”.
The Top 10
1. Brandeis University
From the Huffington Post: Brandeis, based in Waltham, Massachusetts, has its own Department of Community Service and Brandeis Service Corps. The school hands out awards based on how many hundreds of hours of community service the students perform, and holds a social justice pre-orientation program.
2. Loyola University Maryland
3. Boston College
4. Creighton University
5. Tulane University
6. U.S. Coast Guard Academy
